Dr Bernard Chan Pak-li was Political Assistant to the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development from March 2013 to June 2017.
Before joining the Government, Dr Chan spent about 10 years working in the technology sector, gaining experience in intellectual property trading and crossover collaboration. From 2008 to 2013, Dr Chan served as a member of the Kwun Tong District Council.
Dr Chan holds a bachelor degree in electrical engineering and a PhD degree in biomedical engineering from Duke University, USA.

Changpeng Zhao, known as CZ, is a serial entrepreneur with an impressive track record of successful startups. He launched Binance in July 2017 and within 180 days, grew Binance into the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world. An expert in blockchain and trading systems, CZ has built Binance into the leading blockchain ecosystem, comprised of Binance Exchange, Labs, Launchpad, Info, Academy, Research, Trust Wallet and Charity Foundation.
CZ is a Chinese-Canadian coder who spent his youth flipping burgers before studying at McGill University Montreal. He then spent time in Tokyo and New York, first building systems for matching trade orders, then developing software for Bloomberg’s futures trading on Wall Street. In 2005, CZ quit his role as head of the Bloomberg Tradebook Futures Research & Development team and moved to Shanghai to start Fusion Systems. Jawying (Honey) Lyster is a consultant in the HIV, Health & Development team at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Asia-Pacific, Bangkok Regional Hub. Her main focus is on marginalised communities, including LGBTI persons and people living with HIV, through the regional “Being LGBTI in Asia and the Pacific” and HIV programmes. As this year’s co-chair of the Inter-Agency Task Team on Young Key Populations (IATT YKP) she endeavours to encourage youth leadership and entrepreneurship, especially in response to the COVID-19 pandemic which has dramatically changed the economic and employment landscape for young people and key populations. She aims to encourage LGBTI entrepreneurs, through targeted interventions at the regional and national level, to join the startup ecosystem and support their communities through innovative social enterprises.
Originally from London, Jawying is currently based in Bangkok and holds a Master of Science in Medical Humanities from King’s College London.

Sender was part of a team at the Wall St Journal that won a Loeb award for coverage of the meltdown of Amaranth hedge fund. Her work on the overseas Chinese received a citation from the Overseas Press Club and she was a finalist for the National Magazine Awards. Her book on India was published by Oxford University Press.

Mareme is currently the head of international partnerships and relations at DraperU. She has a 2 year experience working previously as a program manager for Draper University, an intensive entrepreneurship program in Silicon Valley before endorsing her current position. Mareme has worked for research centers in Paris (CNRS) and Senegal (ISM). She has also worked as the Hackathon Manager at Schoolab, an innovation studio based in Paris that offered consultancy in innovation to top European corporates. She is passionate about human development and structuring systems that maximize individuals' potential. She has worked with several educational organizations such as ISM Senegal and the Global Scholar Programs in Johannesburg, and has developed with them different educational models in order to promote entrepreneurship, leadership and innovation within the African education system. So brings with her over 20 years of experience in the digital, e-commerce and media space, working across the Asia Pacific region, Greater China and the United States. Prior to joining Expedia Group, So was managing director of Groupon Hong Kong, one of the fastest growing e-commerce business in the region, covering three business verticals including Groupon Lead, Groupon Goods and Groupon Travel.

She was the product and business manager for Apple in Asia Pacific, responsible for the launch of many of Apple’s groundbreaking products in the region.
She has a Ph.D. degree in integrated and holistic health, an MBA degree from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and a BA degree in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley.
She is a certified yoga instructor and a life-long student of Buddhist and yoga philosophy, having completed Georg Feuerstein’s five-year Traditional Yoga Studies course. She has a passion for art appreciation, creative writing, photography, swimming, and hiking.
