Why Now?
On July 18th, 2024, the Eco-design for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), REGULATION (EU) 2024/1781, entered into force. This legislation mandates that “all products must only be placed on the market or put into service if they comply with the eco-design requirements applicable to those products set out in the delegated acts” (Article 3). These requirements include durability, repairability, energy efficiency, recycled content, and overall environmental footprint.
Furthermore, the regulation introduces Digital Product Passports (DPPs), highlighting their role as “an important tool for making information available to actors along the entire value chain” (Recital 32). Textiles, especially garments and footwear, are among the EU Commission’s key priorities for early adoption by April 19th, 2025.

Why Participate?
In order to comply with ESPR regulations, you need to know the following requirements:
1. The ESPR legislation mandates that all products must meet stringent eco-design requirements. Learn how to align your product development and business practices with these requirements to ensure compliance and avoid penalties.
2. The Digital Product Passport (DPP) is required for products to ensure traceability and sustainability. Learn how to create and manage these passports to ensure compliance with the legislation.
3. As the critical performance criteria assessed by consumers, fabric hand and skin comfort needs to be digitised and to be included in the Digital Product Passport (DPP) for fashion textile products. Learn to use the FBD Platform to create DPP for your products.
4. Textiles, especially garments and footwear, are prioritised under the new regulation to be adopted by April 19th, 2025. Equip your company with the skills to navigate these changes and maintain a competitive edge in the market.
