ENTREPRENEUR STORIES 7: With Igor Duc, Co-Founder and CEO of Native Union

Igor Duc is the Co-Founder & CEO of Native Union, a tech accessories brand that embodies Igor’s personal passion for quality, creativity, materials and tech.

Igor was perhaps born to be a design led entrepreneur and started his entrepreneurial journey developing and manufacturing French designed furniture at affordable prices from China to sell in Europe.

Fuelled by a passion to fix the sourcing issues his business faced, and a love for Hong Kong, Igor relocated to the city from France in 2006 to be closer to his supply chain partners.

As the realisation became apparent that his furniture business had insurmountable challenges when it came to scaling, Igor’s love for functional tech saw him stumble upon an opportunity. His curiosity and inspiration was obvious when he cut the wire and attached a retro telephone handset, purchased in Sham Shui Po in 2009, to his Blackberry and created a new way to optimise use of his device.

Igor’s inspiration and curiosity in that moment was what ultimately led to the birth of Native Union and a journey that led him and his business partner to creating the iconic tech accessories brand found today in Apple retail locations worldwide and in luxury brand Boutiques across the globe.
